Default Steering Bearing Mod

I know this topic will have been covered many many times before i expect but i thought i'd just share how i managed to do it,
I did the mod tonight the 'normal' way (as i've seen a couple different ways) but i've seen people say that you cant do the screws up tight as it puts pressure on the bearings
So i made myself some spacers so I could do the screws up nice and tight and it's worked perfectly,
After a bit of measuring I found that the m2.5 nuts you get with rc4wd beadlock wheels (pin mount) are the perfect thickness for the spacers,
I drilled out the hole in the nut to 3mm to make it into a spacer, put the spacers in, bearing on top and you can do the screws up nice and tight with no binding at all, And it got rid of 95% of the slop i had, Steering is now slop free and silky smooth

Nice option on the steering (kingpin) bearing mod, but I'm not clear on what you did. Got a pic of the parts laid out how they go together or something?

Sorry for the delay getting some pics of the components up,

First pic shows the Nut/Spacer (left before drilling, Right drilled out to 3mm, They are soft metal so really easy to drill out)
Rest of the pics are fairly self explanatory

Turns out the nut is the perfect size and shaped so it doesn't foul the bearing at all too

I've fitted the same top and bottom on each knuckle to my rig and have been able to do the bolts up nice and tight.

Feel free to add this to the thread with the rest of the bearing mod. Defiantly a good idea.

When I did mine I centered the knuckle over the ball by putting the flanged bearings on the outside of the knuckle with 6x8x.1mm shims between the flange and the knuckle. This allows you to precisely center the knuckle and use 4 bearings per knuckle.
