So I got some new rc4wd 100mm superlift shocks today and one day when I get time to install them. What is a good weight of shock oil to use for trail propose?

I use Team Associated Silicone Differential Fluid 5,000cst with good results.

Hi Levi,

I hope you are out of the hospital and at home enjoying tiny trucks!

I agree with GR above as I just filled my 90mm scale shocks with 5000wt diff fluid, as has been suggested on the internets. I must say I think this is spot on. The "pistons" in the scale shocks have more flow area than any shock I have ever seen (I race off road 2wd and 4wd so shock tuning is a thing around here) and so the super thick diff fluid works with the very large flow area of the scale shocks. Also, do not fill the shocks to the top as the shafts displace quite a bit of volume and if the shocks are filled completely, they will hydrolock very quickly.

Hope this helps.

Hey thanks guys. Always open to suggestions especially being new to the scale scene. That's kind of what I thought on oil wait but wasn't for sure. Thanks tkw75, it's my boy that's in the hospital still for a few more days, long long story. In short it life is ok for now, one day at a time.
