What are you guys using to hold the back window surround to the cab?

I've read JB Weld stuff, Plastruct Plastic Weld, autobody stuff, etc.

I use Weld On #3, it is like Plastruct on steroids.

Regular hobby grade plastic weld is hit or miss on making a solid bond with the plastic RC4WD uses on their newer bodies. The Weld On makes an incredibly strong bond on nearly any type of plastic.

You can even use it to bond lexan to itself which is pretty amazing for repairs or making custom bodies.

My Yota body is with a friend being painted. I absolutely hate painting hard bodies. I'm not even a fan of painting lexan bodies, but I can do simple paint schemes. With hard bodies I'd rather somebody else do it. I've tried it and I don't like it. :lmao:

With that being said I'm considering buying a pre-painted Blazer body from RC4WD. How is the quality of the paint? I don't want crooked lines or some really shoddy paint job.

I pulled my TF2 back out to resume the build. Right away I spotted another issue that, for some reason, I hadn't noticed previously. The right front wheel knuckle is incredibly sloppy. With the tire installed it moved enough to change camber about 3°. Sorry, but I don't want randomly adjustable camber on the fly. The left side knuckle was fine. I reached out to RC4WD's useless customer service and they told me the slop was normal. Yeah I'm not OK with that so I reached out to an RC4WD higher up on Facebook. Thankfully he said he would send me new knuckles.

While I wait for my Yota body to be painted by a friend, I got impatient and bought another body. Last night I printed up a license plate for it. Here's a preview of what's to come.

Now I haz question!

The front tire is perfectly centered in the wheel well of the Blazer body. The rear wheel is not centered. It's skewed towards the rear of the truck and as the leaf spring compresses it move even more rearward. This causes the tire to rub the bod at the rear, but not the front. Has anybody else had this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

I'm also looking for some slightly smaller tires and I'm open to recommendations. I want soft tires though so if you mention RC4WD I only want X2SS and X2S3 compounds.

Before i sold mine Jato i was sick of the wheel placement as well i bought a u bolt kit and adjusted my axle forward slightly that way

Mine did this too. You have to bend the rear leaf, close to the front eyelet. That’s the only way to fix it as it sits without relocating mounting brackets. You’ll have to continue to do this over time as the leafs are FAR from straight and will bend/deform as you use the truck. I found the easiest way to bend the leafs was remove them both, and then use a plier to bend them, rotating the front eyelet towards the rear. Basically decrease the radius near the front eyelet. That will pull the wheels forwards.

I suggest removing them to do this because they’re tough to bend while installed and you risk snapping the leafs :shock:, and you can then ensure they match left/right so you track straight. Right from the factory (even new Link kits) are painfully inconsistent.

For tires, I highly recommend the RC4WD 1.55 Goodyear Wrangler MTR’s. they’re a little shorter than the Rock Beasts, are very very soft (new X2SSS or whatever) and look killer.

So apparently the general consensus is that my rear axle doesn't lineup with the body because the springs are too flat. I am going to attempt to give them more arch. What's the best way to reform the leaf springs without kinking them?

Those are pb rockbeasts in 1.55? Personally, I think anything bigger than a mud thrasher looks ridiculous on these but that’s just me. I would consider the 1.55 Rc4wd goodyears, the 1.7 dick cepek trail country, the 1.55 dick cepek fun country, or even the Axial 1.55 bfg if you can find it. The Axial are smallest at 3.3 tall (without foam), the 1.55 dc are about 3.6 or 3.7 tall and the trail country are about the same. Boom Racing also just came out with a very nice 1.55 that’s super soft and the same height or slightly larger than the Axial.

The Pit Bulls look good on both the Blazer and Yota body. But I want smaller tires as an option.

I have the 1.9 Boom Racing tires and I hate them so I doubt I'd like the 1.55 version. Theirs are too small anyway IMO.

You hate them? I think they’re nice - I don’t care for the sidewall but they’re very scale and small. The 1.55s are basically the same but with an A/T tread pattern. They’re small so I doubt you’d be crazy about them. The Blazer is basically a 1/10 scale so the Boom or Axial are like a 33 or 34 inch tires on a 1:1 rig.
