| Need help deciding on upgrades
Hey guy a recently purchased a trail finder 2 rtr a couple week back and I'm looking to upgrade. What is the first thing I should upgrade. It is completely stock except I did the motor drop on it. I don't know whether to mess with suspension, drive shafts or what. So any advice would help. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was in the same boat as you. The best thing you can do to it right now with zero cost is its suspension. It starts of very stiff. Try removing all the springs from the shocks, removing the 2 helper leaves at the rear and smallest leaves at the front. I find that the stock electronics are more than adequate for me right. I do light trailing. See me thread for some ideas ::Gagak Rimang:: SKUNKWORKS - RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk |

Awesome advice man thank you. So you're saying to remove some leafs and the inner spring in the shocks correct? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

O Ring mod, remove the internal springs, and leave the leafs as they are. If anything add an anti-wrap bar to stop the leafs from breaking. My first real upgrade would be suggesting to a 2 speed if you plan on doing much technical crawling as well as driveshafts. After that maybe a high clearance transfer case skid

REAR From top to bottom: Medium leaf Main leaf FRONT From top to bottom: Medium leaf Main leaf Small leaf I removed the springs from all shocks and fill in 5k diff fluid. The medium leaf goes on top to prevent axle wrap. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Last edited by Gagak Rimang; 05-01-2017 at 10:05 PM.

It helps to get better flex. From top to bottom Washer Oring Your leaf setup Oring You will need a longer screw. Take note however that you do not overtighten and 'squish' the orings. It should just sit nice and firm. Use loctite to prevent the screw from backing out Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Drive it, upgrade as you find weak points. I bought mine used and started with fixing things wrong with it, there's a very good reference thread stickied at the top of the page Team RC4WD's Comprehensive Guide to the TF2 The drive shafts are weak but it depends on what you do with them, mine have held up fine so far |

My setup is very very simple ... I run small leaf on bottom and medium on top with main in the middle ... o ring mod .. slightly chino modded the leafs and gelande 2 front shock hoops with 90mm shocks and it does well enough, my main issue is the stock shocks are garbage imo but changing them out very soon for some actual shocks but leaving the springs off of them |
