Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build Back in February I traded my homebuilt 1.9 Wraith for my 2nd Marlin, I've wanted to build the 4Runner but I didn't wanna give up the Marlin Yota body either so why not have two lol. I mounted up the new RC4wd beadlocks to the stock tires last night, prepped the body yesterday and sprayed it today. I used Duplicolor 1988 Ford Ranger charcoal gray lacquer for the body and Duplicolor bedliner paint for the rear roof, pretty happy how it turned out, I could wet sand it and polish it but I'm kinda liking the satin sheen it has. More to come, the usual TF2 tweaks and scale details. They did a great job with this body I have no complaints as of yet.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d90803d7e1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c8ca7a9657.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...600dec5e51.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b9106758d1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f07c6729eb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4221680ff9.jpg |
Re: Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build I used Rustoleum Matte clear on all interior pieces to tone down the plastic gloss finish.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...db1c6d82e1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...192c708c94.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...860159ddca.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...eda40c35ba.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e6ddf6b179.jpg |
Re: Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build Very interested in this build. Something I've been debating since receiving my mojave kit is starting with 4runner or just yota as I collect build parts. It looks great and really liking the interior. |

Re: Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build Got my windows tinted, they look better on the truck than off the truck, I suppose I can live with them, didn't turn out as good as I hoped they would.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b81d610dc6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...caeb95aae5.jpg |
Re: Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build Pulled the trigger on some RC4wd front and rear tube bumpers, tube sliders, and a winch from RPP, can't wait to get them installed, this build has been just what I needed to get me going again. |
Re: Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build Looks great. Keep it up. Theses tf kits are fun to build, fun to drive to. Makes me want to do a 4runner kit now. |

Not sure if you’re going for trail truck or shelf truck..., I just did the shackle reverse (rc4wd), wish I didn’t. They are hang up heavy..., might as well go crawling with a snow plow on the front;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's definitely good to have you back around! No half assing! LoL! Need to motivate Mark to get out and do some crawling. I'm too far away, but you're local enough to do it. Can't wait to see this thing and your other rigs back out on the rocks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build I installed a few other goodies yesterday on the 4Runner, RC4WD tube bumper with a winch, RC4WD sliders, and SSD front and rear hubs. I also have the RC4WD rear tube bumper but take note for anyone doing a 4Runner on a Marlin TF2 the chassis in the rear is different than standard TF2 so you will have to make a custom cross member to install the rear tube bumper. That's gonna wait for a bit til I decide exactly how I'm gonna do it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...179ad2d2be.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5eab145835.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e97560b950.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...afd8c16c49.jpg |
Re: Kincer's 4Runner Marlin build Well later in the day after some thought and some grinding I was able to move the furthest rear cross member to where the old bumper mount was so that gave me the holes to mount the bumper but that made the bumper sit away from the body about 8mm to far, so I drilled 2 new mounting holes in the bumper 8mm away from the existing holes. This resulted in a nice close fit for the bumper. Took a little thought but worked out well. This is not needed on the standard TF2 chassis. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cf17d2fbea.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9bcf5e89a8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...aa84595ee3.jpg |
