Default truck antenna

So here's my newb question. Do you guys run the antenna wire on the truck in mast or leave it wrapped up? Tips? Tricks?

When I was running a body on my rig...I cut the antenna tube to about 2 inches and coiled the rest of the antenna up...so it wouldn't be visible on the outside of the body. Now that I have a bodiless chassis, the entire antenna is coiled up and I don't have it inside an antenna tube. When I'm crawling, I'm never more than 5-10 feet from my crawler so I don't experience any glitching or anything

i had the same though when setin' up my rig.

i have full antenna and used the cap to hold the last 1/2" tight to the top.

for the rest of the wire i had looped it arround the reciever to take up slack. option 2 would be bundle it up in 1" folds and zip tie it but dont tighten the zip tie too tight. you will need to cut the zip eventually dont want to cut the wires when you do.

i havent had glitching and i crawl close to power lines.

hope this helps. dont forget, its all trial and error. and let your patience outlast your batteries!

Yes, coil it up and keep it on the inside. It helps to protect the antenna and looks much better. Just make sure you don't put sharp bends in the antenna or put it in a bind!

I've tried it both ways and prefer it coiled. the tube gets kinked good when ya roll it. in side and coiled it's more protected by the body.

I'm about 20 feet away max either way. I get glitches in the house with it setup either way and assume it's due to all the electronics. Out side it's fine.

I coil mine between two of the body posts on one side. Works nice and I wasn't getting as much gliching as with it being in a ball.
