so i am really wanting to get my rs10 hooked up on a lipo for longer runtimes. but i have heard through the grape vine that it is not lipo safe. but i have also seen some people running them. so is there anyone that knows what i can do to get longer runtimes or how to make the truck lipo safe without sinking a ton of money into it. also i am wondering for the four link set up can you use the stock upperlinks by just adding two links and making the piece to attach them to on the axle. if i can get some help on this it would be greatly appreciated. thanks Brent |

Going lipo can be pretty cheap. You are looking at a LVC or a new ESC. Without either of those to, you can still run lipo but it is highly not recommended. You would be at a large risk of really missing up some stuff. The best way is the safe way. Let me know if we can help! -Jason |

You could try these batteries and dual setup... Seems to get longer run times for him... Dual batteries |

As was already said...stock links work fine for 4-link, you just need a pair of rod ends and a bolt/nut to bolt it to the 4-link mount. You could go lipo pretty inexpensively just by buying a lipo cutoff, maybe Jason can vouch for how well those work. A better, but more costly, way is to buy a new ESC that has a lipo cutoff built in.

I just ordered two of these yesterday. Traxxas XL-5 Waterproof ESC traxxas sells them 85 bux each + shipping I got two for 70 bux after shipping NIB or wrapper. so I can do the two ESC mod. and run lipos up to 3s which I have. will also allow me to run in series if I want up to 2s or 7.2V nimhs maybe more since I'll be running two XL-5's. I wonder if the plastic gears and stock motors can handle run in series! So for 10 bux more than your cut off, you could have gotten a waterproof lipo ready ESC. Later RIch |

OUCH .....! thanks for the heads up. I talked to traxxas and they said it would. I'm gonna take your advice since you aren't trying to sell me a replacement part and you already tried it. Still got plenty of bats for it even @ 2s. later Rich PS: I really thank you for that was told different on the phone. |

looks like in the end you did better than me!!! LOL I'm not happy that traxxas told me what they did. I do realize they thought I was going to buy two of them for 85 bux each. Ehhh... no biggie I got lots of nimhs and really wouldn't want high end speed anyways on the RS10. After I get them I'll call traxxas again. maybe I can go "power up" with them. Later Rich |
