Default Factory charger power supply?

Just got my new redcat in today and am wondering how long it takes to charge the battery with the factory charger.

Since it has no indicator light or anything im asking whats a general waiting time for the battery to be fully charged up.

20 min?

45 min?

1 hour?

It didn't take me but a week or so to get frustrated with the stock charger not having any kind of indicator telling you if the battery was charged, not to mention it takes forever to charge a pack. You can find better chargers for pretty cheap.

4 hours is a lot if you have a couple of packs and each of them takes 4 hours to charge.

Default charger

charging batteries slowly is the best thing for the battery as well as running it down as far as possible. That being said, 4 hours is a long time to wait for 30 min of play time. You can get faster chargers cheaper, i think my integy charger was 50.00 and i can charge a 4500 in about an hour.

Hope not!

Ive only had my redcat for about a week now
So, i know nearly nothing about what type of battery i need.
I went with the one from ZNO because they sell so many other redcat parts i assumed this battery would work well with it.

WHAT TYPE OF BATTERY DO I NEED?

Oh well, if it wont work with my ESC ill exchange it for they're metal gear servo.
The servos from the factory are pretty weak.

Default servo

Ya the factory servo's are...well...they suck HUGE. I burned one out when i took it out of the box! I locked the rear steer and went to a savox sc-0251. It works really well

It COULD mess up the ESC. The ESC is only rated to handle 8.4v...a 3s lipo is 11.1v. Plenty of guys in here run 3s lipos on the stock ESC and have good luck doing so, but if you do so, don't be surprised and pissed off if the ESC dies. This is not to say that anything will actually happen to the ESC, I just like to point out the voltage rating of the stock unit to hopefully prevent a venting post from someone who hooked up a 3s lipo and messed up their ESC.

heefageLA, the battery should work just fine, just be cautious like I said above. Also, do some research on charging/balancing/storing lipo batteries if you're not familiar with them.
