Question Lock Out Rear Axle - RS10 XT

to begin - I have searched this topic on this site for about 20 minutes and have found nothing so please do not blast me if it is easy to find/do.

I am looking to do away with rear steering on my RS10 XT and have read thread about people doing it. I think it is called locking out the rear axle.

What should I do?

Thanks for any help - suggestions.

Check the tips and tricks thread it will help you out tremendously. There are a couple of ways to do it, I did mine like jsowens did his. Not sure what thread it is in but he has picks of it posted.

Check out my build thread. If you have a dremel tool and a few bucks, pick up some of the nylon spacers like I did, remove the rear servo and linkages, and install those spacers.

Default Thank you for your help!!

thanks - thanks - thanks

That is exactly what I needed to do the lockout. I really appreciate everyones help. I actually looked at a couple of those threads but did not read carefully enough or look at the pics. It appears to be an easy mod.

I have front steering only on an Axial AX10 that I just picked up and it is so nice.

Thanks again,
Jeff

If you decide to do the lockout that I use, you can cut the arm off the rear steering knuckles to get a clean look. However, definitely make sure you have the lockout made properly and it works before you cut the arm off.

thanks JS - I am not overly worried about the clean look as I am getting rid of the rear steering. You seem to be able to answer every one of my questions.

Thanks again,
Sno Dawg

BTW The front steering only is the way to go. I am loving it on my Axial AX10 - I just bought two new bodies for it. I picked up a Dingo(Defender Rover lookalike and a Honcho) on Flea Market. They all go perfectly with my orange FJ40 - Redcat RS10 XT.
