Default No steering out of the box

Ok, so I found my crawler..I ordered one after we got our son one for Christmas (RS 10XT), my wife intercepted the delivery and hid it from me, lol!

I found it, charged the battery and I have MAYBE 10mm of steering one way and none the other, same for the rear.

Do I need to discharge the battery that comes with it, then charge it? The servo horns are fine, horn screws are tight, adjusted epa, throw etc. Anyone else have this issue?

Oh, it moves forward and reverse fine.

mine was the same way, double check your adjustments on the controller, and i think i did discharge and recharge my pack. i think i also had to work the servos by hand a few times.

you need to set your adjustments on you TX, also the stock charger sucks so maybe you dont have a full charge. you really dont need to discharge but it wont be at peak performance until its drained and charged a few time. inveat in a better charger to save yourself some headaches. and get better servos the stock ones wont last long.

agreed on teh servos, they are just not build for this kind of work, perfect for a dig though.

I got it sorted out after calling Redcat (good thing they're local, knowing the tech guys didn't hurt either). The wheel on the TX had an internal issue, they got a new radio and it worked perfect, HUGE thanks to "Fish-daddy" for taking care of me.

I didn't use the wall charger at all, I used my normal charger I use for our lipos.

The first thing I planned on changing were the servos, I have a few HiTec 7985 & 7950's that will replace the stockers on both cars.

Speaking of steering, I have a question. If the tabs are removed from the axle to get more steering, is that good or bad in the crawler world?

bad, the dogs will come out of the cups. you don't have enough room on the link side for teh throw and if you use spacers, you need more power to turn them, and again the dogs will come out of the cups
