3s on a stock rs10 esc?

Just ordered my rs10 and now getting ready to order lipos for it then got to thinkin would iy be possible to go 3s on this thing without switching electronics...the plan is to build a speedy rs10 and the 3s would definately help that but i dont wanna burn anything up either.

i use a 2S 40c 800mah on mine. I've seen that the esc can handle 3S, but run your fan off the rx. There's a build on here where a guy is using one and he states that you need a heatsink for the rear motor too.

Yeah there are a few threads about this. There are a bunch of guys using 3s lipos with good results, but I've also had guys say they burnt up their ESC on 3s. If you go into it knowing that the ESC isn't rated for that much voltage, and there's a risk that you could burn up the ESC, I say go for it. If you go for it, make sure you install a lipo cutoff or alarm...the stock ESC doesn't have one built in, and you don't want to destroy your batteries by over discharging them.

Thanks guys...ill start lookinh into it more. Daddy is there any reason why u r running only 800 mah instead of 1300 mah. Im figuring ill have plenty of room for a 1300 in a gmade r1
