Read the sticjy in the redcat forum called tips and tricks and you will see mainly what everyone has been doing. 1. Metal gear servo. 2. rear steer lockout. 3. tires 4. lower stance 5. spare battery 6. nice quick charger Those are in no particular order of importance. |

What do you plan on doing?? bashing or comping.. Depending on what your plans are weither to lock the rear out. My redcat i kinda liked the rear steer. It wasnt going in to any comps just something to bash around with |

One of the first mod I've done with my RS-10 xt is remove the Velcro straps that warp around the battery. Then I when to the auto parts and bought some self adhesive velcro and put on the bottom of the battery box and on one side of the battery. This seems to keep the battery from sliding around.

These guys nailed it as far as the typical upgrades are concerned. The biggest thing is to do a lot of reading, drive your rig A LOT, and replace things as necessary. You could drop hundreds of dollars on the thing and not know how to drive it and not do so well with it. With that said, what I recommend considering as your first upgrades are: 1: a decent battery charger 2: metal geared servos with a good amount of torque 3: tires |

The reason I ditched the rear servo was that it wasn't powerful enough to hold the rig true when it got into a good bind climbing steep things. The servo would give and let the tires turn and flip flip flop all the way down the hill. I could have bought another 645 and a BEC, but I am only letting myself spend a little money at a time and I chose rovers this time around. I have a 645 up front and it works very well.

Here is a build you can look at for reference. It's the original RS10 not the XT but it's good info. ZNO-RC Team Car Build |
