THIS HERE. This is the type of style tuber I would love to see a regular production of. This style and that will fit a decent range of cut Pro-Line bodies such as the Rubi it has at top of it or maybe an FJ. "thumbsup"

TOYUTAH 08-24-2007 08:31 AM

You guys need to build some copies of your purple landcruiser! That is my dream rig! Get some of them built and I will for sure buy one! I think that is the style you should do, or at least one of the styles.

lunchbox 08-24-2007 09:28 AM

OK, thats a realy nice one.

RPP Hobby 08-24-2007 06:06 PM

I really like those alot. But we are looking to make a more simplified chassis, to get these into a price range that most can handle. A chassis like the above is quite time consuming to make. Who ever did them has done some very nice work "thumbsup"

Stormin2u 08-25-2007 02:32 PM

Corey.... I like the fact you are price sensitive.....I would also think something more simple would weigh less...some of these tubers are tanks...My 2 cents....Storm :)

lunchbox 08-25-2007 10:02 PM

Yeah, thats true. I already have a 7 pound crawler, something a bit lighter would be nice.

dhoffroad 09-04-2007 10:15 PM

did a little testing today !!! gettin closer....

most of the "body panels" are off while I'm messing with diff setups, it's just easier that way. the last pic is a "photo chop" of it with all the panels and some color to give you a little better idea of the look I'm going for.

pretty slick lookin tubers guys "thumbsup"

lunchbox 09-05-2007 07:14 AM

I like it. It looks more.... finished with the back all closed up like that.

Offroader5 09-05-2007 02:25 PM

Yup, I think I like it. I do see a little bit of Karnivore in that windsheild/cowl area..."thumbsup"

Grizzly4x4 09-05-2007 04:31 PM

Looking good. "thumbsup"

dhoffroad 09-05-2007 07:02 PM

hey thanks guys !

just so you all know I'm trying to build this chassis to be able to run a number of diff components and setups. there is vertical link adjustment, enough room for a pede transmission (mounted in pic just did a little trimming on the pede to remove some usless plastic), and a stick pack up under the front of the "hood". so building arround a pede and a stick pack IMO left enough room for most other trannys and batterys that are ran in our crawlers. in the pics there is a Tekin R2 speed control and a TQ3 reciever, which means that there is room for most speed controls and reciever's back there. oh yea diffrent shock locations too...

balang_479 09-06-2007 07:42 AM

looks good, nice to see people making production tubers...

one suggestion, i think the front is a bit square, maybe give a slight point in the middle maybe, the rest looks awesome.

Yeah, now that you mention it...

Maybe just knock the front corners off a bit with an angle/chamfer?

perfictsib 09-07-2007 11:30 AM

looks realy great the way you got it already and i wouldnt change it unless it needed to be, i think with out panels on the rear it would make it look as if it has a rear carrier fitted and i would leave the front side ones off to just to show off the frame a bit more but thats just my thoughts if i had one.

(when you starting production)

or add a little boner bar to the front.

i hate being limited on shock or link mount locations, it looks as you are already addressing that. "thumbsup"

i personally would love to see a 1.9 warpig style chassis. rear 4 link and juggy leafs up front, tuber bed area and the user can fab whatever cab they want to it. with winch and servo mounts...

I can't wait on more pics and a possibly pricing

JeremyH 09-16-2007 05:15 PM

Those turned out well. They kind of look like some of the Marlin Crawler F-Toys...

Offroader5 09-16-2007 05:22 PM

How much room is there in the battery compartment....wondering what packs could fit up there other than the sticks.

I have always liked this buggy, it shouldn't be to hard to make with some minor change to work as a RC crawler. "thumbsup"

dhoffroad 09-16-2007 05:40 PM

thanks on the compliments guys.

as for the room where the batt is, well between the "frame rails" there is 2 1/2" as for depth or how low the "tray" sits right now there is 7/8" at the shortest point (at the front) and the length well the pede is the limiting factor there. basicly the only measurment that cannot be changed easly by a little drilling new holes and trimming of the battery tray are the width between the "rails". hopefully that helps ?

I got #2 done today, no time to run it, just enough to build and take pictures will it looked so purty. Cause next pictures will not look like this :flipoff:
