With small strong magnets. $3 at Hobby Lobby. Thin metal on the top where magnets wouldnt fit. Then I put the magnets on the underside of the body opposite the metal slivers

By the way a full piece of Styrene would have worked great for the top but I only had 1 piece at 3am when I was building it Thats why I added the middle support.

Should have my motor in today from Tower to make sure the magnets arent interfering with my electronics.

It wasnt near as bad as I thought it would be. You just need to score the sheet of Styrene and snap it for cuts. Then use the Tenax-7R to bond it, It bonds in about 10secs. I used a dremel for the heavy sanding then some sandpaper for the small stuff. Try it its cheap enough to mess up a sheet really. Here is a good starter pack a guy just turned me on to for cheap....

Nice job on the hardtop!Looks very much like the 1:1.Working with the styrene is very easy and when you use the tenax 7 it bonds so quick you can motor thru a project in no time. You got me thinking now,my mocrawler softtop is gettin pretty ragged and a hardtop would look way cool on my Bruiser bronco.Very nice man!

Hey thanks, I never even thought to mention the time savings when using that. Its not like a tube of Testors model glue Works good!! How much did you pay for that soft top? I cant get a response from the guy. :-(

This one turned out much better. I used a single piece for the roof. Much more structurally sound Also bought a palm sander to save me some time.
