Default How to make a Thermos

I wanted to make one of those old school red plaid Thermos bottles for my Scout build. It was pretty easy once I got the parts I needed.
First I got a small thimble for the cup/lid and trimmed it down. Got a piece of 1/2" styrene tube, cut it to about 1 1/4" long. Dug through some 1/2 grommets/snaps for the top and bottom of the jug.

Painted the Thimble beige, just like the real deal-although I opted for the texture on the thimble for added detail. Then downloaded some red plaid pattern and scaled it down in Photoshop. Printed it out and wrapped it around the tube. Then glued the parts together-

Yeah-a handle could be cool-actually it would be more of a shoulder strap than anything else.

I like the texture of the cap vs a smoothie-just added extra texture but you are right it could be mistaken for a toothpaste cap. Thanks for the props on the interior.

Thanks-A thimble is a protective cap that folks use on their fingers when they sew-helps push the needle through w/o hurting your fingertip.
