Default Firestik USA Edition 1/6 Scale

Waiting for the heat wave to pass and got bored so i decided to do another Scale item on my check list. My attempt at a Firestik in the USA version. I wanted to stick as close the the original as possible with the materials below. The external coil wire is the best i could in regards to following the spaces between the wraps. Will cut to length (8" where the wire ends), paint it up, figure out a mounting system and decide if i want to do the original or the Firestik II. Not sure i can find a small enough bolt to do the Firestik II. I guess it doesn't matter as it is capped off anyway.

Materials Used:
2.5mm Fiberglass Boom support from my Heli
.02 Music Wire

That is pretty cool.

You could use heat-shrink and wrap it too.

Thank you for the comment. I don't have Heat Shrink small enough so i decided to paint this one.

Red and white are painted, Blue is next with white for the cap and silver for the base. The base is rubber tube so it will move/sway a little. The wire is showing more than i expected but from 2ft away you can't tell. Maybe later i buy and try some heat shrink.

Looks good.
Yeah. Might have to put a few coats of paint to build it up on the wire. It's probably just leaching out since there isn't much surface area to float on.

Heat Shrink with Red/White/Blue.

Yeah that was with 3 coats. If i do another i'll try heat shrink or plastidip. Thanks fr the Heat Shrink link.

All done. Turned out pretty good. It is not as tall above the bed rack in person as it is in the photos.
