Well, this is my first real project with styrene. I decided to document it in pictures and post it up....hopefully it will let noobies know that us noobies can actually work with styrene and it turn out semi-ok. So anyway, here we go..... Got my junk together to build with...hobby knife, glue, paints and of course styrene. .020, .030, .040 and .060 sheet. Some 1/2" tube, 1/8" rode, 1/4" channel, 1/8" sq. tube and .020 grooved sheet. Next, cut some .060 to make a basic box. Now, make a rectangle....not to hard Make some drawer blanks (fake drawer backs) Cut some channel to make the drawer handles.... And do a test assembly to make sure it doesn't look like crap... Assemble a few items and send everything to the paint booth... |

Hmmm...need to make sure the chest has casters. Started off with cutting up some 1/4" tube... Then added some .030 sheet to either side of the tube, trimmed it up and made a wheel. I also stacked 8 sheets of .030 to cut all eight caster assemblies so they would be the same size. Drilled a 1/8" hole thru to put the caster axle in Painted and assembled....nope they don't turn. I'm a noob and just practicing on make good straight lines and 90 degree corners. And....the parts came back from the paint booth...now to start assembly. |
