Default Moving into my own shop!

The landlord (my wife) says lease is up on the laundry room! Get your own place! So after searching for some ideas, and some prime real estate I found some property, and construction commenced!

Poured the floor;

Framed windows and doors;

Glass and doors installed, paint and wall details almost complete;

Garage door may be made functional;

Lots of work to go, air lines, electrical, permanent lighting, (construction lighting still in place) work surfaces, etc.

Relegated to a corner of the property way far away from peering eyes', that way she can't see the receipts!

The carpenters replaced the entry door with the custom ordered diamond plate job today, also had the cabinet guy drop off the sales counter.

Good thing you got that new heavy duty diamond plate door, and ya better keep that garage door closed, because there's a Giant waiting on the outside of your shop as evident in the 6th picture down of the first post. Great job!

Thanks! Ya, for some reason it's always dark outside, like I'm in Alaska or something. Strange.....have to add some detail outside the shop windows.

Well, busy day....had the Electricians in to install the switches, receptacles, exit light and the opener controls. The mechanical crew stopped by to install our hard airlines. And a customer dropped off the "winter" project. Actually it's a L-Trail frame rail set that I won from TCS Crawlers, Thanks Ben.

Now, we need to roll in some tool boxes and air tools. Hoist is going to be a must have as well.

Tire rack fab'd and dropped off today.

I am trying to work out a two post lift. May take some experimenting, we'll see.

Had the work mats dropped off today, ordered the entry mat with a custom HH logo! Added a little inventory, a under lit shelf at the work bench and looks like more beer, pizza and doughnuts then there are tools! What's up with that!

Quick update, had the sparky's back today to install a couple of suspended 8' LED strip fixtures. These were made using 2700k LED 12v boards, cuttable at 2" intervals. Used .040 styrene for the frames. Left over 1/16" cable for suspension cables and paperclips for the hangers.

Well after seeing sickcivic95's tool cart build I was inspired.....so here is my attempt. I think my issue was fingers too large-itis, could not get the same cuts as sickcivic95's, that said mine isn't as intricate, you can still pile stuff on it though! Just used .040 styrene, 1/8" styrene angle wheels from tiny cars laying around.

The handle

Doner wheels!

In color

So it was time to add some furniture, went back to Ikea, and of course you have to assemble everything! And its all boring white! still trying to figure out why they sell those gigantic pieces of sandpaper! Well assembled the chairs, table and stools, now have to paint them!

Looking really good so far. I may snag a few ideas from you through out my build as well, I was pondering lights the other night and have some strip lights similar to yours that I used to build as overhead light setup.

The only difference is I added a diffuser over them to help disperse the light a bit and dulled them down to look more fluorescent and avoid the spotting of LEDs, I'll post some pics when I get it 100%'done with that part so you can see how I did it.

Anyway nice furniture keep the updates coming

Thanks Dan, it's the creativity throughout this section that keeps the creative juices flowing. I gave thought to diffusing the light engines. Kinda what I do everyday. Great idea and looking forward to how it looks when your finished. So had to through some detail to the chairs, added some diamond plate and cushions, added a couple of storage boxes for spare parts for the cart.
