Help me understand the logic here on adding points for rear steer or dig?

Do you add points for xr mod compared to stock scx steering. Angled carbon fiber chassis compared to scx chassis? 2s compared to 4s?, brushed compared to brushless? Rear steer and dig in class three can not only screw you it is tough to master. Bottom line is some scale builds call for it. Why penalize people for being more true to scale?

And go!.........:)

Just want to rest easy knowing there is some logical reason for this I am missing.

Also just want to clarify that I am not wanting any type of argument. Instead of just continuing an old rule possibly review this at some point?

That's all. And thanks

I think you're talking about the course penalty for using them?

Actually they just got rid of that this year.

I swore I just read it on the new rules? If I am wrong forgive me.

If it's gotten rid of the 2018 course rules n penalties list should be updated. Its still listed on there.

I hope it's gone. I mean they penalize a guy that builds a scale heavy tuber with rear steer. But allows a carbon fiber slanted chassis with xr mod which is completely not scale to run.

Having rear steer or dig is a performance advantage over someone that doesn’t have it, therefore it had a penalty to use it. It was removed this year to promote the use of it, and Class 3.

That was easy.

Thanks warpig. But it's still on the rules?

You really should update the rules PDF if there are changes in it.

There it is at the top between assisted recovery and point out

Assisted Recovery: +10 points
Dig/Rear Steer: +5 points
Point out: +80 points

There is no explanation however.

Shouldn’t be, obviously someone was supposed to change it but didn’t.

Can’t believe I didn’t think of that.... Thought the PDF automatically updated itself :ror:

Are we allowed to use dig and rear steer now on the course without penalty for C3?

Judging from the previous WP post that should be the case.

However the penalty is still in the rules PDF.

Probably going to be fixed shortly. One hopes.

With no penalty, does this mean we can run both on the same course now?

No penalty to use it, but you still can still only use one per course.
