Default Shipping Rigs to AZ

It was asked if Rigs could be shipped out ahead of time rather then taking them on the plane, the answer is yes. If anyone would rather ship their rig or rigs out they are more then welcome to, just hit me up via pm, txt or FB and we can make arrangements.

I wonder if we should extend this to battery shipments? The new air regulations are set to go in place the same weekend.
So if you are flying in you may want to look into it more.

Well new shipping regulations in general. Most of the stuff was aimed at shipping batteries, but not sure how it will affect traveling with it.
Some things specify Lithium Ion and some just say Lithium.

If you Google "Lithium battery regulations 2016" you'll find a lot of articles on it. I'd contact your airline just to make sure.

Was hoping to not ship anything.

Flying with RC's is becoming a pain in the ass.

Thanks, was not aware of all this.

Might have to order some more comp packs before prices go up.

I emailed the IATA about flying with Lipos and here is the response:

My question is whether or not this pertains to a lithium-poly battery being carried on to a passenger airplane (in a carry on bag)?

I travel frequently for Radio Control car events.
In the past I have carried all my batteries on to the plane with me, in the same case that I carry my radio controller.
Each battery has the plug taped up to prevent shorts, is placed in a separate plastic bag and put in a foam lined carrying case.

Should I expect any issues when flying?

Thanks,
Patrick

And then some quick math based on this:
http://images.fedex.com/us/services/...ery_JobAid.pdf

Tells me my 1400 mah 3S lipos are 15.54 WH, so I can carry them on, with no limit, just protect the ends with some tape to prevent shorts.

Thanks Patrick! Looks the same as it was last year. Hopefully the TSA is on the same page.
