Thanks man! It was good to meet you as well. Wish I was done with it before that last comp so I could have ran. However, I will be ready for the Comp in Oct. Cant wait!

Default Got Winch? ............I do!!!!

Ok so as I stated in my stats in the beginning of this thread, "Custom machined winches"

Well I decided that it was time to start on that part of this build so I could figure out what style and measurements of bumper/push bar I would have to build. Also I had to start the process of getting my plans patented to protect my work. So yes there is a Patent Pending on this! I have 2 other desighns that I came up with also but am holding off on those till this build is done.

This took me an entire week of machining and close to no sleep!
It is fully functional, variable speed forward and reverse controlled from my radio. However no free spool mode. DONT NEED IT! There is also a machined winch hook but it is not completed yet.

It lifted my 6 pound anvile strait up off the ground 4 feet durring testing and only noticed a slight bog doing it..........still I was impressed. So I can say without a doubt, it will drag my rig around like a rag doll

Any way here are the pics and I should be posting the test video tonight sometime but for now I gotta sleep a few hours before I fall over!

Also when I wake up at some point tonight I will be purchasing a Vender Star. So keep an eye out for me in the Vendor section and find out why!! (BCD) Here are the unpainted pics:

Default Winch test video's

Here are the video's of the testing. Durring testing I found that the cable has a chance of getting caught in the small space between the cable spool and the spool bearing housing. Sooooooo although the winch works great I am headed back to the Lathe to machine another spool with an overlap to close up that stuppid little gap. Not a big deal just about an hour of work. Funny thing is, I kinda knew this would happen if I left it that way. But I didnt want to start over on the spool when it was already almost done at that point. Lesson learned= go with your gut feeling
