Actually my traxxas smaxx no longer has front shocks, I took them and will put them on my honcho tommorow. I ordered the Baja claws also. I really liked the lift on your truck so I am going with something similar. Where me and my friend drive there are fallen trees often so I need the extra clearance.
But heck I saved like $45 by using shocks I already had. Btw your truck is sick

Default my first 45 minutes with brand new rc4wd 1.9 Baja Claws

The compound feels nice and sticky
But the foams that comes with the baja claws. are the worst. Much to firm.. my truck bounces all over the place. I do run vented wheels .
In a short time Crawler Innovations are comming with new lil' Nova 2 stage crawler foams 4,75" That way the Claws will perform much better.

I have just driven 45 minutes so the Claws are not complete broken in..
I heard that the Claws have a pretty long break in period.

It needs to soften up a bit and some aftermarket foams.

I can pull some different lines now with the claws. some lines that I couldnt with the flatirons.
And the grip and feel with the claws slowly gets better as the break in..

guitar string E-6th Brass . pulled it of a electric guitar. the thickest one.
and I just put a small red piece if shrinktube at the bottom

I kept it a bit long and it really whips and bounces a lot.

tonight I was playing around with my wheelbase, castor angle, approach angle, to make it a little bit better.
Also I had to do someting about the bumpsteer that I could not get rid of.
I still had a 4-link in the front, switched it to a 3-link and bumpsteer is gone..
Dont ask me my length of the links, hehehe been messing around a lot with my links, trial and error, 4mm longer, 2mm shorter, check, double check you know how that goes..

and what do you think of my approach angle? looking good..
I see now that my DH-Fab bumper is a bit pointing upwards these days, I guess I have been poundig it a lot agains rocks.
Wheelbase is now 12,403 inches

having a little fun in the sun this afternoon

the baja claws seem to do much better after you run a few packs trough them.. the hook up good.
I'd could use a pair of good memory foams.

Default update scalercourse

been busy with builing on my scaler course. concrete and rocks are my main materials. but a few more gimmicks have to be added, like a bridge, maybe some running water. and a few removable items.

like it ?

little area for the mudpit.

any comments ?

Wow Murky that course is really coming together!
And your rig is TOP NOTCH!
One of the cleanest Honchos I've seen. Keep up the good work.
If I ever make it to Holland I'll make sure to bring my rig and check out the course you've got!

Yes, nice truck and course! Considering that little TLT bracket for my panhard frame mount too. I like the music too, is that Royksopp or?

I love your crawling course. I think it looks very cool where you have the moss growing. Does the moss make it harder to climb? Or does it provide a bit more grip for the tires?
