Default 1:1 Wheeling @ Compound Off Road Park 1/4/14

Travis and I had planned to go to Gulches this past weekend, but after finding out that Skip made the call to close the park due to conditions we decided to join in on the opening day at The Compound Off Road Park up in Chester. We had a good time, but I don't believe we'll be going back for a while...let's just say the park needs some time to "mature"

In any case...thanks for the ride Travis...enjoyed it

Here's the only 2 pics I took...and a short video clip of Travis' new rig.

What didnt you like about it Ryan? I'd considered taking the TJ up there for a bit. I've heard it's mostly mud though...

It was wet and sloppy for sure. We came through the field one time and there were 7 trucks stuck at one time scattered around the field.

Yeah...it was mostly mud. The highlight of the park was the creek and we were allowed to drive up and down both sections of it. I'd imagine that will come to an end just as soon as a neighboring property owner gets wind of it or sees the rainbow colored water flowing away from the park

I think they've got a great location in the state to draw in a lot of rigs on a regular basis. They just need to work on developing the park a little. It'd be fairly easy for them to build some features like what the Great American Offroad Park (GAP) has. Would it be natural rock...no...would it be something fun to do a couple times a year...YES.

Of course I'm a little biased on this since it's only 1hr from my front door so I do hope they stick with it and are successful.

Oh yeah...an updated map would be GREAT too.

Todd...I don't remember what your TJ looks like, but I could definitely see where closer to stock rigs would really enjoy the park.

This is where my rainbow colored water comment came from.

And this...boys and girls...is why you don't rely on a shock mount to hold your axle tube together

Hahaha We made it on RCCrawler!! There wasn't much to do in the park, hopefully we'll be back to shoot the banks of that creek some more before it gets shut down.

Probably around the first of March. I'm going down Ryan's this weekend and try to finish the Sammy.
