I was told that I need to post in the supers as I bought a pair of super bullys for a 4 wheel steer set up. I have been reading the threads WHAT ESC...SLOW ASS BUILD and others....Iam sitting with my young fella glued to the screen looking for some guidance....We are looking at our next purchase ESC I think I need 2 ( BRXL OR BRSL ) seems to be the pick....even not sure on which BR to purchase Motors to match ?????? BEC ??????? Cost is not a big factor as I am looking at the long term... Cheers and I do enjoy the reads and the pics just need a small push...I believe in asking the best in the business......I do understand that people are careful on recommending products...... for a lot of reasons but it is up to the buyer in the end...but really I have not much of an idea.....I don't wont to watch another YOUTUBE video |

Welcome to the Rccrawler.com. It's a great place to learn as I did. As for your question, Dual Brxl is a great choice, so are the dual FXR which I run with no problem. Yes, you do need a BEC. Why use BEC? Servo draws power from the rx. Most of the time, rx don't provide enough amount of power for High Torque servos. Bec draws the power from the battery. Since you running dual servo, get 2 Castle Creation bec. You should check out creationfab Bypass BEC adaptor, get 2 of them. It'll make a lot easier to hook up your servo and CC bec into the rx. CreationFab - Plugs Other Receiver Bypass Adapter Matched motors basically mean identical motors, such as same armature, wind, can, bearings, etc, etc. Team Brood and Holmes are the top dogs in crawling world. 35 or 45 turns seems to be the norm for supers. Basic rule for # of Windings (turns): Lower winds = higher speed and less torque. higher winds = lower speed and more torque. Any more questions, please ask and happy crawling. Appreciate your time and advice From the information by others a standard FXR is all that's needed, rather than the FXR pro.. what motors are you running.......I have been reading about TorqueMaster Expert 540...and what batteries would you recommend |

Not a problem. I still run the hand wounded Fantom Blitz 35T motors. I think Fantom is phasing out the brushed motors and going the Brushless route. Holmes rebuilt the Fantom motors for me a few years back and was similar to the TorqueMaster Pro series. So your selection of motor is a great one. According to the Tekin FXR specifications, it is rated up to 3s lipos, but many have ran with 4s lipo without a problem. Most of my lipos are the 3s, 850 to 1000 mah with C rating around 30 to 45. Most of my batteries were from Chris the Battery Man. His website is CheapBatteryPacks - cheap batteries for rc car, Lipo battery and charger, airplane battery |

Just a heads up, Chris no longer works for CBP. He will help answer questions, but as I said, no longer works there. He has moved along into the 1:1 industry. Cheers. Jeff |

Do your self a favor and spend the extra money on a set of Holmes BR-SL esc's. Supers have large tires and FXR's have a shitty drag break. They are the only esc to run in a super. For a servo you will need Hitec 7980's front and back. They are the only servo strong enough to turn super tires. And motors? Do you have 65:1 or 38:1 axles? |

I'm in Coffs Harbour about 5 hours....Just went to the aluminium place to see what they had 6.3mm solid bar was the smallest they had...I think I'm going to build the chassis out of Aluminium....I have small sheets of aluminium and angle......I thought if I bought shocks that would help me with setting things up.....What do you think is 6.3mm to thick I wont to use it for the spaces between the chassis which will be ok, steering arms and suspension links

Nice. Need to get it ready for nationals next year. Maybe we can run it. Alloy chassis is good I'd look for for something like 2.5mm. 6.3mm for chassis spacer is good. You could also turn them down in the centre. As for suspension links and steering I don't think it would be that good. Is it just standard alloy? If you went for some 7075 I would say it would be better. The standard alloy is really cheesy. I'd say 8mm in standard alloy for steering. I killed a few 6mm rods, then went to 10mm. Had no issues, just overkill. For links have a look at the ottosix ice links. It's delrin tube with steel all thread down the guts. So it would be strong and slide on the rocks. Have you read many of the bully threads on here? I suggest do the bearing mod in the king pins, shave your knuckles to get a bit more steering aswell. I would notch the tubes and mount your servos in between the tubes and motor. If you need any help/advice feel free to hit me up. |

Not sure where the nationals are held this time around. The ones this year in June were @ coogee beach,Sydney. There are 3 running supers in my area, 2 in newi. There is one being build, when its finished it will be amazing. There's also another one around. So we should have enough. That would be great. |
