Default Can a mad tourque be turned into a 2.2?

I have a mad torque, what I want is another 1/10 like my old scorpion. But, there are plentyof chassis for good prices in the for sale section for cheap, and I can gut the MT for electrics. My main question is the axles. I had to replace a steering knuckle the other day (stock ones are way weak, stock axial is beefier) and I noticed that there is a long green hob that the wheel threads to. Is there anything that would replace those and allow the use of 2.2 wheels? It seems like it would shorten the width considerably, maybe even to the /10 length. So can the MT axles be converted to 1/10 use?

Just trying to do this on the cheap unless someone wants to trade me for a ax10.

thanks!

you can swap the axle stub out for an AX 10 stub and put 12mm hex and try. Just make sure your track width doesn't exceed 12 inches if you want to comp with it.

Pretty sure hes already wider than 12"

Exceed mad crawler wheels should work on it. They share the same axle.
