Default Is this too long?

its at 20 inches from axle to axle ...not tires ... I dont care about comp standards but if it makes a difference on performance I will cut it down...

Tires will be XL Mashers or Moab ,Atlas 80t's etc.

Hummm... I think you should avoid asking yourself too much questions...
That's what I did with some of my first mod... To much care for details that where absolutly irrelevant once on the field... Might be better to do-try-change, unlike for planes or choppers, there is not too much risks if something is not quite right at the first try...

Also, before the big day. Check that ALL the screws are tightened. For my CC01, at home I was still debating on wether or not upgrading the suspension links, result: I went on the field with half screwed rear axle and lost a rear 3x30 screw after 5 minutes...

All you can is try. the only problems i see is you will have a huge turning radius, even with dual steer. Also could have a high center problem uless there is alot of droop. But that is the fun with crawlers, you are not stuck with what comes out of the box. post some finished pics when you are done

Yeah, I was looking at your video and saw that. But I dont think full throttle and full right or left steer is considered normal steering in rock crawling. Just because a vehicle can drift in tight circles does not mean it turns in tight circles. Try showing us it turning and driving forward at slower speeds.:-P
A rock crawler difting thats a new one.

yes thats an amazing video !!! I must do exactly what U have done !as far as steering what must I do to get such an angle on the turn ?!!! I knew its possible ...
By the way may I ask you Kamikaze which motors U use in that rig? I'm guessing 65t's ?
the biggest challenge might not be the rig itself but finding rocks that are a worthy in size...

I have the stock Clod tires for testing and I am about to purchase Atlas Rock Climber motors (I am not sure what turning speed to use)...also be making an order possibly from TCS maybe Integy shocks , Moab XL or Masher etc and some nicer top link mounts ...one thing I am finding difficult to find is
Cable Clamps and I have no idea why TCS or RCP crawlers dont stock them...or they are not on the web catalog ...or I haven't seen any except from Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search
will post photos ...also check the whole build thread please! TY for the help

Well I do that in a comp situation, just a little blip of throttle will break the traction, then you can skew the whole rig round in no area at all.

Ask anyone who competes with me, I turn like that in comps. And the slow speed turn is almost as sharp.

For steering I have integy aluminum tubes JP knuckles and CVD's. As for motors they are just plain old $15 integy lathe motors, oh and a 4 cell lipo. Heres a thread on it. Reworking the Super

I thought my Clod was long with 16", but I see we have almost the same setup.. my chassis is a bit wider.
You have done a clear job, seems to look great.
I use 60 turn Atlas motors, they are slow enough but give also enough wheel spin. I think 80 turn is to slow.

The Gravedigger body is 1:8 scale i have sold it for a good price.
Witch body are you planning to use, i have now a Chevy C-10 '72.
