Super rebuild

I've dug the remnants of my super out of the dark recesses of my rc locker.

This was Slim in his prime:

This was my very first buildup, and the painful evolution:?

Basicly I ended up with a bare chassis with links, axles and a couple of motors. I made a couple of 1/4 scale servo mounts to fit the TS80 servos onto the axle stays.

Archie came to checkout the commotion"thumbsup"

I've aquired a spektrum DX6 and receiver, a CCBEC, a couple Sidewinder esc's and some Axial Narrow beadlocks. I'm getting closer everyday. Can't wait, I'm ready to get back out there"thumbsup"

It's great to see another Super being built"thumbsup". You definitely go way back with this rig and have some history with it. I am glad I could help out with the receiver. Let me know when you are ready for some better tires than the XL's.

Thanks Eddie"thumbsup" With 3 trucks being built and rebuilt, I'm thinking my tire budget may be shot.. I'm really looking forward to getting this one buttoned up, the winter series is just around the corner. I need time with the new setup.

If you can make those mounts, you can make all the links you need!!

Good to see you up and at it again!

Thats true:mrgreen: But somebody has the material and wants something I have:-P
I'm so ready for this to be done, just need a few more bits and pieces. I've got a cam on the way from Jetboat, and my order from Tower is on the way. Patience has never been one of my better skills.

Looking good. I can't wait for the winter series to start. There are going to be quite a few supers this year.

Lookin good Dead "thumbsup" You keeping the chassis? or going with another type of chassis?

Thanks for the compliment"thumbsup" This one is staying as Kris calls it, "the elevator shaft"...I used some spare elevator parts to build it. The heim joints came right out of an elevator parts book as replacements for the old mechanical safe edge linkage that Dover elevator used before the electronic safe edge took it's place. Wouldn't want to call it a "stick" from TCS, it isn't...just my cheapo copy of what they used to sell. With a little stouter backbone, mine is made from either 6061 or 7075 solid Aluminum rod. Funny I don't really remember.;)

I'm close to getting this rolling, hit a couple bugs with the electronics and the wiring...I think I gots it worked out, but I'm going to miss the opening Colorado Winter Series comp on Sunday. I'm just smiling ear to ear right now thinking about playing with my shaft and the new stick radio. This will be my 1st crawler with any sort of "dig" system on it.

My wiring harness looks like a disaster, and I've got each esc plugged into it's own battery at the moment for testing and troubleshooting. Guess the mini-t and the 18t won't be getting used anytime soon, since they donated to the cause. Thats another adapter I've either got to build or buy. I'll be spending some quality time with the soldering iron and the heatshrink tubing this weekend, after I sort out the rats nest of bec/rx and servo wires.

JEEBUS:shock:
