Default Project Noob Scratch: 1/6th Dodge Ram Clod Build

I am calling this Project Noob Scratch because I am a newb and this is my first build, all from scratch. I had absolutely no parts on hand other then the 1/6th Ram body from my New Bright. All other parts were ordered from various vendors here and ebay. Thanks to CPE and TCS for providing a number of parts. A HUGE thanks to STANG KILLA SS for all the help, tips and recommendations on this. I'm still learning as I go... I will be putting together a file for other newbies of all the parts required for a build like this. It will list the parts, descriptions, approx. prices and where I got the item.

I've seen quite a few noob builds and this doesn't look like one. Nice work man!

If you have some extra $ left over invest in a 7 cell battery, you can run 8.4 volts through the moped. It maks so much of a difference when runing 7 cells.

lol, extra money! I'm in over $750 now with everything so far. Thanks though, I'll keep that in mind next pay check though!

hahaha yea, alot of PMs but you've provided an unbelievable wealth of knowledge and without it I'd still be looking for a chassis. Very much appreciated!!

They will be on order shortly, along with a set of their 40 series narrow rock star bead-loc wheels

true the 40 slingers would be sweet. they are even bigger though, just be aware of that. and it may be awhile before there released.

take your tire off, set it on a piece of paper, trace around it. then free hand making the wobbly parts of the circle allitle smoother arc.
then cut the circle out and use if for a template to trim the fenders.
like this, youll note the circle touches the two upper corners. you just be removeing a hair above teh stock opening, and some (more) on the sides. then you can lower teh body on the monster truck lol

Well I didn't finish the Ram body yet because it's really useless if I want to crawl, but I did get my Rubicon body painted. Not bad for a first timer eh?
