Default Torsion Chassis IDEA

Alright so I've been thinking about torsion chassis for a little while. I know I don't currently have a crawler but I am saving up for a project, so look out for it soon. This is just an idea though, so it might come after my first project. The main idea was to get a torsion styled chassis that has the articulation of a shock and four-link rig. Anyway, here it is:

The basics are as follows:

Two chassis sections that bolt directly to the axles, connected through a bearing that allows the seperate pieces to rotate 360 degrees. On the edges of the chassis, there are elastic bands that are adjustable and allow the chassis to articulate a certain amount but not over-articulate. So tell me what you think-remember, this is my first crawler chassis design, so go easy-constructive critisism please!

Its a novel idea but to over complicated. The torsions out now are much simpler and effective. But theres no reason not to try it, do a build thread and find out for yourself.

I thought torsion chassis could already accomplish 90 degrees articulation with the suspension alone?

Default Aaugies torsen chassis

I designed this set up a few months ago, i thought rubber bands would work but in the end they where too flimsy, so i switched to springs on either side, seems to work like a champ, i'll have it on a truck in a few days, if my parts arrive..they got lost in the mail....i'll post pics when its done. a good stick set up might still be at the top though.
