Default CR-01 Body Choices?

I just saw someone running a blazer body in another thread, but are there any other choices of bodys for the CR01 that fit properly and look scale to the truck ? I love the stocker, but I want to get something different to run too.

Thanks in advance.

Go to your LHS and see what they have on hand. Measure the wheel base of the body you like. In stock form the CR01 is 11 and 1/2" long. You can shrink it a tad or extend it to almost 12 and 1/2" maybe longer. So anything in that range should work. I have the HPI Jeep Rubicon body but you need a 13and 1/2" or so wheel base if you want the wheels to line up right.

Dude...no. The Jeep works best with a 12-12.25" wheelbase, not 13.5.

As for what fits best on the stock wheelbase, the Bronco and especially the D90 would be the best.

And Proline's Bushwacker fits the stock wheelbase much better than the stocker.

Thanks guys, I like the style of that Ambush body, looks pretty sweet. I'd really like a truck body, but most of the Proline ones are atleast in inch bigger then the above two mentioned. I dont like it when the bodys look out of proportion with the scale of the truck.

EDIT: That Clod body looks sick on there. Is that with the stock wheelbase and everything ?

That body looks pretty good on there, the wheel wells line up nicely. I'll keep my eyes open on eBay for something...

Anyone else?!

Parma does or used to make a lexan version of the clod body.. just an FYI.. it would be lighter than the ABS version.. if they are still available..

Still do. I bought one of them only two weeks ago for my sister's Midnight Pumpkin. It needed to be considerably shortened.

Before we cut it down, I tried it on my CR-01, and the fit with the standard wheelbase was just right. Almost made me want to keep it for myself.

That Hilux body looks sweet on there. What sort of modifications did you have to make to get it to fit ?

Proline bodies for the stampede seem to fit well. I run a '72 Chevy C-10 on my Cr. Crawls just like a full size chevy does.
