Well, I've added the 3Racing bent links. Cut down and cleaned up that rear servo tray. Topped off the leaky stock shocks with a few more drops of oil. Still waiting on the GMade shocks. They say they shipped on 10/31 from Korea so who knows where in the world they are now.

Here's the coilover setup currently on the rig. I did take them apart and put some plasic spacers inside the shock to limit down travel as someone here recommended, since these are a little long when fully extended. I broke or loosened something in the tranny today when I was out testing. It was climbing a rock when the motor suddenly free spins and the rig shoots down the rocks in reverse. I cheked the pinion/spur and its meshed up fine and spins with the motor so something inside the gearbox is stripped/loose or broken. I compressed the suspension and gave it somet throttle and the gears meshed back together and spun the wheels. So without taking it apart I'm not sure what came loose. I sure it has to do with the extreme driveline angle though.

No problems with the gearbox, looks pristine and perfectly lubed. The problem was a loose grub screw on the pinion. When there was no strain on the gearbox everything spun fine but as soon as there was some kind of friction the motor shaft was spinning inside the pinion. It was getting worse with the driveshafts binding at the extreme angle they were in.

Put everything back to cantilever for the time being until I can get some shorter overall length shocks as well

Are those the 104mm shocks? How do they go with the canti setup?
As for the pinion grub screw try some loctite on the thread, it worked for me on my TXT with twin motors.

They are 104mm shocks. They work great in the cantilever setup, but as coilovers they are just a bit too long. Limiting the movement with spacers inside the shocks made the springs too compressed and still made the ride height too tall. There was like 3.5 - 4" under the gearbox, should be more like 2.5-3". In those last pics the springs are compressed about a half inch already. If I put it back into the coilover set up again I'll get something like 90mm length shocks.

Right now I set it back up as Tamiya says. Cantilever with firm springs up front and medium in the rear, chassis sits level this way. Rear links on top of the servo mount with spacers as EePee does so the rear upper links are nearly level now. After trying a bunch of different setups over the past couple months I forgot how good this basic set up works out.

Yeah, I did some loctite on the grub screw this time, haha! I feel like a fool for overlooking the simplest thing:lol:

Liking the slow sync. Looks like D40s deserve a better press than they get.

Also impressed at the DOF you're getting from a lens with such a small aperture.

Oh, and the CR-01 looks good too. :ror:

Someday I'll upgrade the camera but for now the little D40 is doing great, I'm still learning this photography thing.

Added the Proline roof rack and lightbar. haven't gotten around to wiring the lightbar yet. Hell, I haven't even taken an outdoor picture of this rig in months now since its so damn cold. Using it outside in this weather is enough, mitten on my steering hand and glove on the trigger hand, LOL!
