Default Gearing Down

Has anyone ever used the Kyosho 540 Geardown Unit Planetary Gear when building a rock crawler? If so, how far does it gear down, as far as speed and torque?

Here is a link to it.....

very cool unit, too bad it doesnt list reduction. Regardless, it's most likely from 2:1 - 4:1, so it would be a great hop-up. It looks similar to the other aluminum inline reductions I've seen, except most of those others arent $92! Some in-line reductions cant function in reverse, so make sure to contact tower before buying.

How would it work in forward and not in reverse. I would imagine if it spins it one way, it would have to allow it to spin the other way. Right?

I would say you'd be better off going with a GD600 or some of those robot gear reduction units (posted in electronics I think) because they are $70 cheaper and only require a little bit of modification.
