Default Emaxx slider too short on a 12" TLT ?

I have a Tlt with a R2 tranny. I use Emaxx sliders, as I saw in the Tlt of Bender.
My weelbase is a bit more than 12" and the R2 is mounted exactly in the center. I use the standard long shaft of the R2 tranny and for reasons too long to tell I don't want to shorten it. So, given the weelbase, the TLT axles, the tranny monted at the centre of the chassis and the use of Emaxx sliders, the body of the slider on one side (the one where the R2 shaft is longer ) is very short and it works at a very steep angle.
I noticed the Traxxas Output Yokes are larger and longer than the Axial Scorpion ones and as a consequence the body of the slider is shorter if the whole lenght is fixed.
Don't know what to do: I think Emaxx sliders have great relaiabilty and it is the reason lots of people use them, but in my chassis, I repeat, one of them is extremely short and works with a bad angle. Perhaps it is time to buy a Stampede or Scorpion slider ?

Thanks
Filippo

The best option and quick fix is to cut or buy the shorter r2 shaft. Of course you already new that. Stampede shafts can operate at a tighter angle. However, the trade off over the maxx ones are strength and price. Really just a bandaid for the issue. The way to correctly fix it would be to reduce the angle or increase the slider length through trans / axle spacing and angle.

I have no experence with scorpion shafts. Well other then I see that they pop off all the time causing comp scores to hit the ceiling.
