1.9 Comp Class build: Nluv's

Decided to try my first 1.9 class build. Went through all the spare parts and here is what I cam up with.

Specs:
Narrowed tlt axles
Hacked axial chassis
mini lst shocks
axial tranny
35t lathe
TD XL's
3 link/panhard suspension front and rear.

Lots of work to do still, but its coming together!

The tlt will be perfect for this, just need to go into my parents attic and dust off those old RC boxes to figure out where they all are.

The 1.9 class is going to be a riot

Great rig! The panhard bar kicks ass, good idea!

I see i wasnt the only person who thought of using the old axial chassis laying around:lol:. Great job narrowing the TLT's, i cant even see where you narrowed them, got any info on the narrowing proccess you want to share"thumbsup"?

cheesefart 10-23-2008 05:46 AM

x2"thumbsup" I would like to see a write-up as well. This is looking great!

Culetto 10-23-2008 09:00 AM

Haha, i figured it out after reading it for the 4th time. Cut the axle tube down on the long shaft side and use a short side shaft on both, right? After hunting around for pics it looks like you can get almost a full inch narrower. Is that about right? Its gonna help a ton with wheel and tire selection. Any tips for where is better to cut to retain the strength?

DAAAAAAAAAAMN!

So I just threw the chassis I was working on in the trash and dug out and ol' stock Axial chassis.:ror:

I have solid stainless axle in the rear and CVD's in front, so I'm not sure about narrowing them?

This little 1.9 stuff is fun, takes me back to when I first started crawling."thumbsup"

Stormin2u 10-23-2008 05:04 PM

Nice job Nluv your 1.9 is looking good I think the TLTs will be awesome performers for the 1.9 class.

Thanks man! The panhard setup will be interesting to see in action. SlinkySam has been having good luck with his replica of Tiny using something similar so I cant wait.

The axial chassis worked out great! I even used one on the first version of my berg. Amazing how I never ran a stock axial but ran that chassis on almost every rig  Guess I am just cheap!

You might have trouble narrowing the axles with the cvd's because the location of the axle shaft is MUCH more critical. Im too sloppy for that :ror:
