Default low profile crawler

here is a project i am working on for a friend. mostly typical stuff but a few things different. Lay down stampede trans, tlt axles, custom frame, high clearance rear arms, maxx shocks, stampede sliders, 12.5" wb, custom steering servo mount for a 645 servo. It will get wider axle shafts, different wheels/tires and some other odds and ends. right now, everything is just mocked up temporarily. Should have just under 3 inches ground clearance. Trying to keep everything heavy below the top of tires for a lower CG.

Is the rear part of the frame (past shock mounts) going to serve a purpose?
The truck looks good to me

Just a little more on it, articulation is around 55 degrees. It should be extremely stable on a side hill angle, at a static angle it is approximately 55 degrees with stock width axles and the geolanders on split 5 wheels. When i made the front upper link/servo mount and positioned the battery lower, i was amazed at how much more stable it became (i tried it on my crawler first). Well, hopefully it will perform to my expectations when done. Steering might be an issue with the long WB and only 2 wheel steer. shock mounts will have more adjustment holes when finished, like i said its all just mocked up for now.

The rear part of the frame will get a body mount, but i may hack it off. the way i have it right now, it limits the rear articulation. i will test it first like this and see how it performs. On my other crawler, i had to limit the rear articulation for stability reasons. I am hoping this will help it with stability.

If your worried about steering, you could add two servo's to the rear axle for better steering and more steering power.

Do you mean he could add one servo to the rear for a total of two (one front, one rear)? I don't see why you would add two servos to the rear axle. If you needed more power, you could just get one servo with a better torque rating.

From what I have seen adding two servos to the rear really makes the rear steering work. When you are going up hill and most of the weight of the truck is on the rear axle one servo, even Hi-Torque can get slow and weak. If you have two it really helps it stay strong.

This is only a 2.2, many servos can handle 5" tall tires. On a spuercrawler maybe, but no need on 2.2s Try spending more than $20 on servos
