| New 'Pede tranny hook up deal....
Not much tech so move it if needed..... but it could help a few people out. I rolled my butt on over to see Mr. RBGerrish this afternoon at Tammies Hobbies. I ended up walking out the door with a NEW complete 'Pede tranny and new Integy 55 turn motor for $58 Ryan has worked out a nice package at the hobby shop so people can buy complete 'Pede trannies, all you have to do is assemble the thing! And the tranny really comes in a package with everything! You'll have to call him for more details though |

Tammies Hobbies Phone 503-644-4535 FAX 503-626-7490 Be sure to ask for Ryan as he's our Crawler hook-up guy at Tammies. I think he has Tue & Wed off though. People who go into Tammies get to see some of Mr. RBGerrish's crawler creations and watch ORCRC videos while they browse the goodies

That might be a good deal if you could actually get ahold of Ryan. I called today and waited on hold for 25 minutes before I had to hang up and make another call for work. :?

tammies is pretty good for putting people on hold. You just have to hang up and keep calling every 5 minutes or so. i think everyone there is ADD. except that one guy i cant remember his name but he hooked me up with a lathe motor back before tammies carried them. he's a cool guy. Also I'd like to know about what the tranny comes with. I'm guessing a spur mount and bearings??? And since you said $58 for a tranny and 55t motor does that mean the trannies are $38 or did ryan give you a deal? Last edited by RCMFMaxxMan; 11-08-2005 at 12:46 AM. |

Tammies can be busy at times. When I dragged myself in there I was there for about 35 minutes chattin' with Ryan and the phone rang about 500 million times! The phones never stop ringing in that place. Just be warned though, after Thanksgiving that place is a true mad house. No room to turn around because it's so packed. Ryan has got most everything you need for the tranny put together for a package deal of $45. I had him pull out some items becasue I didn't need them or I had upgraded parts already at home. Bearings are not included, I guess I should mention that. It does require a quanity of 6, 5x11 bearings(or bushings). I found left overs at home. Quote:
Yes, the idler gear in the package is the plastic one. Some people can run that plastic gear without issues... you can always upgrade once you strip it though. Although it might not be the best damn deal around... but at least Ryan has got everything needed on hand and ready to go out the door. Everything but bearings and spur gear are included. Everything is all packaged up and labeled "Stampede Transmission w/o BB's" I know some will turn their heads at it(stuck ups) but it's great that a hobby shop is taking a chance at selling everything like this to help our small part of the hobby grow. Ryan has kept Tammies on top of stocking Crawler related items.... he even posts over on RCJims(the ORCRC section) about the new arrivals at Tammies that are crawler related. He has sold trannies, 55 turn motors and other crawler items to complete n00bs to the crawler world. They want to learn more because Tammies allows Ryan to talk about the RC Crawlers. He shows ORCRC videos, displays his trucks & project trucks. Other members of the ORCRC clan bring their trucks into the store to hang out and draw more attention to crawlers. What other hobby shops are on top with helping out Crawlers?

It's a nice thing to have a new, clean and no issue tranny now Crazy how clean this new tranny is. I even put grease in it for the gears, although that normal ORCRC running will just wash it all out If my camera wasn't crap these pictures would look good What you see is a new 'Pede tranny thanks to RBGerrish and Tammies Hobbies! I added some of my own items to finish it off, 55-turn motor, ball bearings, spur, pinion and that crazy tranny mount for the coolest chassis. |

| Pede trany Info??
Hi Guys. I am new to this so please excuse the silly question. The new "pede tranny" looks cool and most people rate them, what is their overall gear ratio and what is the real name for this gearbox. I will have to order it cos I cant seem to find much over here in the UK. I am starting out building a tlt axle based crawler, and I was gona make my own tranny system but this looks like it will save loads of time. While I am here, what wheels do you recomend for using tlt axles and some 2.2 moab tyres without modifying the axle drivers too much. Ill send a pic as soon as it gets under way. Thanks guys. |

The pede tranny's real name is the 272 Magnum transmission. It's named that b/c of the gear ratio which is 2.72:1. Your other question can be answered with a quick search though |
