| Semi BTA on a TLT axle
Hey, Had a steering session last night and made a HD servo horn support because I keep breaking them on a weekly basis. Then I started thinking about BTA steering and wether its possible to move the drag link behind the axle but keep the servo where it is. I was going to purchase some Eggressor knuckles but I didnt think I needed to spend 40 euros when I could make a plate for nowt. The plate is shaped like a boomerang and sits on top of the knuckle with a clearence hole over the thread of the kingpin in the knuckle (hard to explain). It frees up quite a bit of space in front of tha axle not having the drag link there. Anyway on to some pics. Nice going So how is the additional arm attached to the knuckle? I see it travels all the way through to the opposite side and the bolt for the cross link, but where else? Post a pic of the knuckle assembly next time you have it apart. Does the horn reinforcement push the horn outward? ie - does the horn knurling still engage the servo enough with that thick of spacer? I still run TLTs, but have not done this. I have a skid running under the front axle and up around the back of it. A saddle back sits right behind the axle to help the COG. It's a BMV torsion rig, so COG is terrible. Next rig needs to be BTA. Keep posting how it runs! |

Matt, that was some great engineering! Nice way to incorporate the existing holes and kingpin! Like the servo bash plate too! |

**** yeah! its so nice to see people making their own parts still. i really like the dual arm BTA setup. i might try something like that on my TLT tuber.

Nice engineering, I too made my own bta when I had my tlt. I made a servo/battery plate and moved my servo over to the left side, which left room for a battery on the right. Got the job done! Satisfying, making your own parts, then seeing them in action |
