Default EeePee's Jefferson TLT

Thanks goes to PinchFlat for the chassis, the www.UTRCRC.com Jefferson, looks great man!

For the most part it was built up according to what Pinch suggested using, like the links, rod ends, and whatnot.

Pede tranny with a 65 turn lathe (12t, 87) (way too slow)
HiTec 645 servo, Novak SR
TQ3 radio from The Crawler Store
Proline Mashers and HPI wheels

Looks very nice! I can't wait to get mine built!

Are you going to run wideners?

I like that battery placement. Do you have any plans for protection?

Thanks. It's super slow. So either a few more teeth on the pinion, or I'll try the 55 or 45 turn motors.

That was where PinchFlat suggested to put them. It makes for a pretty center balanced rig. A good all arounder. And I shrink wrapped the batts across the gap between the cells to hold them, and that's good enough. Protection??? Pshhh!

I tried running the battery similar to that on my RBX and while the weight was well balanced I could not climb, I could not get the front tires to hook on anything.
I much prefer on top of the servo pointing back at the chassy.

Protection?... I was thinking condoms work good.

The batts are protected well. The body posts (when you get them installed. )are guarding them well and when you get a body on that helps too. I haven't had and protection problems.

We haven't had any noticeable front traction problems. Although more weight on the front does help. I guess it could be preference thing or our climbs are whimpy here in Utah…hehehe. Mine does seems to climb as well as any other though. Anyway... we do include instructions for an alternate mounting technique that you can mount a standard stick pack over the front servo like the RBX and the SW2, for those that want that. On long fun runs I actually carry extra stick packs to strap on the front when the side-mount batteries drain. So I guess at that point it has the best of both mounting techniques…

Anyway... looks great EeePee. I hope the instructions weren't to vague or confusing. As always let me know if you have any questions.

It probably is just a terrain thing as I think the saddle bag battery would own on a more level technical course.

Looks good Cory.. I would like a 6 cell AA pack better up on top of the front servo though

Thanks fellers. Pinch made it easy, follow his list, and you're done.

We'll see how the battery location works out. I'm one to try many different things so I guarantee this won't be the only spot they're placed. TC, see that velcro on top of the steering servo? Guess what that's for? Actually, everything has velcro on it, so it could be considered a universal mounting location for any of the pieces parts.

Looks great Eeepee...look like Revo lover links...what's your wheelbase and overall width with that setup?

Need some body on pics too.

Thanks mang. The wheelbase is at 12 3/4" and the shocks are in the "Business" hole (lower stance overall). I figure if I move them to the "Pleasure" hole (higher stance) the wheelbase will shrink a bit to 12 1/2". If not, I'll trim the links a tad. Gotta comply with the rules!

And it's only 10 1/4" wide. But that'll change soon enough.

Body is in the mail, so I'll have some pictures to post in a little while. I went with a Rubicon from HPI. I was getting tired of the truck bodies.

Actually, the TXT shocks are fine. Nice and worn out from a lot of use and abuse on the TXT, so they're smooth.

They're oil filled. The left rear and right front have a heavier spring and 80 weight, and the the softer two have 40 weight in 'em. A tad heavy maybe, but so far, I'm diggin' it.
