Default TLT torsion stick

well, here's my attempt at a TLT stick chassis

stats:
novak XRS
Airtronics rx
Hitec 645MG
1/4" aluminium C-channel frame
XTM x-cellerator transmission

I just got it driveable tonight, but so far, its a ton better then anything I've crawled yet

and the all important off-body shot

that looks extremely cool. could you take some more body off pics though? like a top view and something to get an idea of how the chassis works

In that 2nd shot is it maxed out. Or will it flex a little more? Looks pretty cool. I had an idea really close to that one.

It'll flex a bit more then that but not nearly as much as a 4-linked setup. So far though, its walked just about every line that I've had it on, I love it.

Here's a better off body shot

balance!

That looks great. How is the torque twist?
The titan has a lot of torque.

Thanks guys, and Cole82, your clod was what got me thinking about this a while back

torque twist seems minimal so far but I need to play with weight placement a bit. It has a little wheel hop on super steep verticals. But it still crawled everything that my last crawler had trouble with.

That x-cellerator tranny has been in two tlt rigs now, and its been great, no problems at all.

I'll try to get a vid up by the weekend

Glad to inspire.
On the clods we added stick on weight to the bottum of the HUBS. Not the rims/tires.

It feels light, but I don't have a scale here, so I'm not sure how light. I'm curious how much it weights too. I'll have to pick up a scale this weekend.

In the meantime, here's a little vid...

nothing in the front tires, but I am running the big flat washers on the front rims. I just picked up some stick on weights to experiment with, but I don't know if it even needs them right now.

cool crawl video, does it work better than a 4-link setup articulation, or is the main idea to limit as much torque twist

Look at the thread again... The articulation is limited to a chapsticks height. Far from what a 4 link setup can do. But this truck will have a much better break over angle with a lower cg then a normal 4 link. And with how little flex it has, torque twist would not be much of a issue.

have you thought of drilling holes to lighten it up even more and allow the torsion bar to flex more. If it doesn't work your only out 5 bucks of C-Channel.
