Default My take on the Torsion Stick - The X-Frame

Here is my new/rebuilt TLT.. It started off as a scale rig with a Diaz frame... and has now ended up like this. I just went crawling with it tonight and it is AWSOME. I have aslo figured out how to get more flex out of it too. I am at about 3.5" of flex and I will be able to get it to about 4-4.5" when I am done.

Some pics:

That's something else. I'd love to see it crawl and how it would work with a body on it.

Not at all.... WAAAAAY more stable... I think wideners might be worse because of clearance... But I don't really know... When I take my new pictures I will show everyone the way to get more flex.... NO ONE has done it yet...

I thought of drilling a hole in thicker alum, puttin a ball rod end thing in it. I made one, and it did flexed good! It wasnt out of thick alum tho, just a mock up out of sheetmetal, like 1/8" thick!

scotts diaz peeing on my tt1

this is the underside now, scotts will get hung up on less stuff i bet and i do think that to a degree more flex does help with these... his chassis is longer and he gets about an inch more flex than i do.

I don't see what would be different from mine to make it flex more?
It looks good. I'm glad someone else tried the angle style like mine.

BTW cole... I love the angle frame.. The whole frame is squared up to within 1/16" . I found that putting the links actually prtects my driveshafts a little bit. I really like the way the links work WITH the frame to aid in articulation.

As for the articulation. I have seen everyone drill holes in the bottom of the channeling on the sidesof the channeling and do a BUNCH of other stuff.

All that needs to be done is to cut(using a dremel) along the angle of the C channel on both sides. If you look at the last picture(of the 4) that I posted, you can see I already made one of the cuts.. You just need to do that on the other side(so in that section its like have 3 pieces of flat aluminum) I only have it for 2-3" on that one side. With that cut I went from 2" of articulation to 3.5". I am going to copy it on the other side and should get over 4" of articulation when I'm done.

VIVA LA X-Frame!!!!
