| ORCRC dig questions
So i set up dig according to the ORCRC guide. Anyone else who's done it, can you tell me how you keep from twisting your sliders. I've made 3 of them so far. the first 2 snapped on the test run. Ive tried to remove only the splines to keep them as strong as possible, as well i've run a steel shank through the slider for support. ??? Any tips? Thanks for the help.

hey war pig, once the dig in engaged and locked, how are you keeping the male end coming out of the axle from spinning. i know the female end is able to spin freely i am wondering how to lock it into place once in slides down

Hey, where did you find the guide? I have been checking their site every once and a while for the past few months and have yet to see it? Thanks Destroyer |

I at the moment dont have a good working camera. but my setup is pretty much the same as yours except that i added a extra support to help keep the brake from spinning as it engages and disengages (sp). the problem i'm having is, that where you have to shave the grooves off the male shaft, it starts to twist and then snap. Maybe i just got a weak set of sliders. I'm on #3 and so far its still intact. Have you tried adding any kind of lube to setup to help it in and out of brake? It slides perfectly smooth when everything is ar rest but under and load the arms dont like to move, I'm using a 50oz micro servo, should be good yes?? |

50oz is plenty, are you adjusting epa's to limit servo throw? if so open the adj up and and move the pivot on the dig lever as far as the driveline, JB weld the rod in the turned down end of the driveline, it makes it a little stronger and has been working good for me |

Yeah, what miniwheeler said. What I did was cut a piece of 6-32 allthread 1/4 in shorter than the length of the 2 male drivelines. Mix up some epoxy and shove it into the hole in the center of the rear down driveline ( the one you removed the splines from) make sure there is alot in there. Then cover half of the allthread with the epoxy and shove it into the driveshaft until it bottoms out, make sure epoxy comes out of the hole at the u-joint end. This is what gives the driveline its strength. Wipe off all excess epoxy before it sets up. After the epoxy dries completely, stick the other end of the allthread into the other driveshaft, this will keep them centered when the dig is activated. Hope this helps. Tim.
