Default Maxx shock axle mount ???'s on the TLT-1

Currently I have the Tmaxx Ultra shocks mounted in the stock location with the pushrod from the cantilever mounted on the links instead of the axles.
I'm considering losing the cantilever's and mounting the tops of the shocks in the cantilever mounting holes on the chassis and the bottoms on the axles.
What i 'd like to know is how and where on the axles to mount the shocks.
I have the stock upper suspension stays mounted and the upper links mounted in the stock position.
Do i simply mount the shocks in the hole on the suspension stay where the pushrod originally mounted.
Do I need to relocate the upper suspension stay??
Help Guys!!!!!
Thanks

Is your TLT stretched at all? I imagine put it in the hole the cantilever pivoted around and then run it down to where the pushrod for the cant. originally bolted in on the axle. Or try some of the other holes on the chassis, or make your own, but keep the shock mounted there on the axle atleast.
