Default Tranny ???

Hi All,
I am looking for a tranny for my TLT project but prices are a little steep on ebay for rustler/pede/bandit trannies. What other trannies have been used? Tried searching but it is a vague search at best. I am going to run with the stock tranny for now, but based on other threads here that won't stand up to the GD600 so I need to start looking for something else.

Thanks!
Mike

Losi XXX or XXX-T spec tranny. The spec trucks/buggies use sliders instead of CVD's. I've slo seen a blackfoot tranny used. Also emaxx trannies.

Have you looked for just a stampede or rustler rolling chassis? A little more $$$ but you get some shocks and tires out of it atleast.

I have been keeping an eye on rustlers/pedes/bandits and will probably end up getting one. I was just looking for alternatives.

With any of the aforementioned trannies, depending on the motor utilized, a GD-600 would produce insuffcient wheelspin for most conditions, it will increase the torque though.

Bsmooth is right. If you get a lathe motor you'll have all the reduction you need. A t600 is another good alternative, it has more RPM's and slightly less torque.

Just about any tranny can be used. I've seen Stampede, Losi, Rc10, Emaxx, Jugg, and Semi 3-speeds...

I'm useing a cut down TXT tranny and laying it side ways. That way I can have the battery under the motor.
