Looking cool. I was considering getting one myself. How much did it cost with all the additional parts that are needed? Also, is it good quality? Did you have to modify anything to get it to fit? Just wondering, because I'm not very experienced.....

Looks like someone did their homework"thumbsup"...This should be one clean build8)...The SW2 is top quality and utilizes alot of the stock tlt parts...

A tlt build can vairy in costs depending on the parts.I haven't sat down and added everything up ,but I'm sure I'm past $500. quality is first class with the BENDER SW2 chassis and the only modification you have to do is to the drive yokes. it takes about 5 minutes to grind the shoulder off them. it does'nt matter if not to experienced ,I was'nt experienced in rock rocking just nitro rc, but with the GREAT people we have on the forum anything can be done. good luck I hope you tackle it , it's great fun building.

the sw chassis has an excellent fit finish. i would say buying a new tlt (from ultimate hobbies $69), sw chassis, and to get it running economically, you could do it for under $300. if you shop ebay and different fs forums, you can really get some cheap stuff

frank400 02-04-2007 09:52 AM

question...is everyone locking the stanpede trans too , or leaving it alone?

Thanks Frank

BENDER 02-04-2007 09:55 AM

You do want to lock the diff in the tranny too. That'll put equal power to the front and rear axle.

frank400 02-04-2007 10:52 AM

does it matter what you use hot glue or JB weld??

Thanks Frank

David 02-04-2007 10:52 AM

Thanks for the advice! :)

Rc EnthuSiasTs 02-04-2007 11:08 AM

i wouldn't use hot glue, i tried it at first, but after about 10 runs it came unlocked. So iused gorilla glue, and no signs of failure yet.

Well, since you called dibbs on that...

My guess is that you've got something like this in your garage too!

I guess I can't go with the other bike in my garage...a 2006 Harley. Doesn't really fit the off-road theme!

the white part in the tranny is the part you take apart and lock right??

Thanks Frank

Wookiebiker 02-04-2007 12:14 PM

Yes, the white part/differential in the transimssion is the part you want to lock up. JB Weld works great BTW...

mascman 02-04-2007 02:19 PM

Nice EXC! Mine is an SX with the MXC tank on it.

I use the Quick Steel putty...just pull some off, knead it up and stuff it. Quick and easy.

frank400 02-04-2007 04:44 PM

where do you get that kind of putty...sounds nice and clean...I can't wait till this cold wheather is gone so I can take it out and ride. I bought it at the end of last season and did'nt get to ride that much.

Thanks frank

Just go to the auto parts and it will be in the same section as the JB weld.

My bike is a 2001 that I bought as a left over in 2003 or 2004...can't remember now?! I had MX Tech lower the suspension for my short *** and set it up for woods. It has 2 rides on it...cleanest 2001 around!

Rc EnthuSiasTs 02-04-2007 08:45 PM
