Default Polishing TLT shocks

Was playing around today with a TLT shock and thought what the heck.

Get a slow speed drill or use a drill press and some 400 grit sand paper and some 1500 grit wet sand paper. A dremal tool with the wire wheel and some polishing discs along with some mothers aluminum polish.

Use the dremal and the wire wheel to remove the anodizing from around the upper shock mount and the grooves in the shock. Becareful not to do anything else. Then chuck the shock up in a slow speed drill or drill press. Wet the 400 grit sand paper with soapy water. Now spin up the shock and carefully hold the sand paper against the shock to remove the anodizing from the other surfaces. Now switch to the 1500 grit paper and wet it with soapy water and run it against the shock to smooth out the roughness from the 400 grit.

Now install the polishing wheel on your dremel and open your Aluminum polish. Smear some polish on the shock and buff it with the dremel tool. Once you think you have it good then clean the shock in soapy water and dry it off with a soft cloth. Change your polishing wheel to a clean one and run it over the shock again to bring out the deep shine. You may end up with a slight haze but it should wipe off with a soft cloth.

If you did it right then you should end up with a shock that looks something like this.
