Default NEW REIGN. K2-3L modified comp/basher crawler

sticksNstones wanted me to fix up his sons Jeremys 2.2 crawler. He wants a pretty bullet proof setup for his son. and I started to work on the rig with the viper chassis I designed last year and had run with much success

Along with all the stuff he dropped off for me to use, he also dropped off the Reign K2-3L he won at the Vegas comp.............my twisted mind started to work......hope pinchflat dont mind me cutting up the beautiful chassis

IT actually is making a great little chassis to work with, the width is about 3/8" wider than most comp chassis but like his other chassis the lower arms are inset into the skid/floor

the parts he bought:

alum housings RC4WD
HD axle shafts RC4WD
tlt spools
full sealed bearings
homemade alum links
pede tranny
Reign K2-3L chassis
jato shafts
blue shocks from RPP
Losi white and green springs
55t lathe

Well.....I have to say that is the most unique K2 chassis that I've ever seen. It actually looks like it fit the need really well.

I love what the sick twisted minds with a dremel and a dream come up with

Have you had a chance to test it out?

Nice Work Man!

I have been thinking about trying something like this with my K2-3L.

Any pics of the upper link mount on the chassis?

Not yet waiting for a few parts to show up. IT is very smooth through the articulation though, balance is very good also.

I jsut used one of the TLT triangular mounts under the cross bar, and made the alum stand offs for the axle side, like I do on all my suspended rig.

After struggling with getting my k2-3s to work and getting sick of it hitting the mashers under flex, i thought of doing that exact same thing. Well then, i built a tuber, and used it on my scale build

But how is it workin?

The Kid likes it wide...........right at 11". I ordered different hexes which will narrow it up to 10.5" about the same as my WK

hmmm... i run my j2 at 10.25" width, not too much less than that, but for some reason that just looks super wide.

3/4" is a LOT when you are talking 1/10th! and that body is narrow.

sweet, im loking at doing this for my brothers 2.2 truck, im anxious to hear about the performance. he doesnt like how much my j2 articulates, but with this we can mount the shocks whereever and tune the suspension that way.

Well guys the rig ran really well today, very stable, great articulation. and despite the extra width, a failing steering servo, and no foams in the mashers, it still finished 4th today with some moments of brilliance. I am very pleased on how it ran today with all the issues. It walked through the some of the tough stuff today. on a scale of 1-10. Id give it a solid 8
