Alittle more progress 2 Attachment(s) Messed around a little more and got my top mount plates and top links and put a pede together and gotter mounted up.Got a cheap body off ebay and just sat it there, dont look to bad I think. But gonna have BC Custms do me up a sweet C-10 soon:twisted:  Attachment 35392 Attachment 35393 |
Good looking car"thumbsup" |
RC Rehab $90=2-3 therapy sessions |
Is this going to be used in Comps? I know that the body is just resting there, but, If so you will want to get the body lower and start trimming! Also, it kind of looks like your upper links aren't parallel to the ground (i.e they are angled). It looks like they could use to be a tad longer. Just my 2 cents. And one more thing, it also looks like your shocks are mounted to the top on the axle. I would mount those to the side of the axles with your lower links. A log COG is a good thing. You can see how my shocks and links are mounted on my SW3 in this picture. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...s/DSCF0005.jpg |
yeah for sure mr shunk knows whats up! |
yea how does your firslt build consist of a sw3? |
2 Attachment(s) Trust me I did my homework, my pics suck cause its a 20.00 dig. cam from truck stop.Heres some more a little closer."thumbsup" The one thing i did mess up was making my own links, Im at a 13"wb.But this is not a comp rig for there are no clubs around here in Bedford, IN.:-( Attachment 35410 Attachment 35411 |

Just a little more tinkerin. 3 Attachment(s) Just ordered some parts, and came up with some ideas, mounted some factory top plates up high to put the reciever and esc on in case of a water crossing, and used some 8/32 all thread for body posts gives me some adjusting for different bodies.Used a basher body as a guinea pig,a Rubicon imagine that. After some honey dues, my dremmel is foaming at the mouth for the Rubi.  Attachment 35460 Attachment 35463 Attachment 35464 |
I would mover your upper links to the next hole up on the front and the rear. While having your electronics up high is good for water crossings, it is horrible for COG. Thre are ways to Water proof your stuff. I mounted my ECS on my rear Upper links and my Reciever is mounted above the ECS inbetween the cassis side plates. You still need to drop the body and trim out that rubi body! My hood sits right on the top of the front chassis side plates. Fenders are over rated anyway. |
Thanks for the info, Im still learning. I used a laser level on the top links to make sure they were level, but will move them up thanks.I wandered about how to stuff electronics in a tight spot.Appreciate all the critekes."thumbsup" |
No problem man... Just trying to help a guy out. I was in your same shoes about 8 months ago and I am still learning! |
2 Attachment(s) Have decided to spare the Bushwacker body for a later scale build, and stay with the Rubi for good or till its meets a dredfull demise. Attachment 35675 Attachment 35676 |
looks good |
body is still too high. I would have used body mounts that go through the top of the body and not the sides... |
Sweet I painted that bushwacker body.......I was wondering where it went.... |

Dremmel Crazy 3 Attachment(s) Took some advice and with a little help of a hungry dremmel and some savage bumpers, and some yellow fabric ribbon got a little further on this Rubi. Attachment 35887 Attachment 35888 Attachment 35889 |
Very nice, the body looks better hacked and slammed. "thumbsup" |
Carbon fiber 2 Attachment(s) A compliment from the designer himself, now that is giving me some more anishiative. Had some carbon colored vinyl laying around so gave it a new look. Where do guys get the smile face daylighter stickers that will fit my dummy lights, any help will be appreciated. Also thinking of making some nerf bars to help slide around on the rocks, either some 1/4 aluminum rod I have or I seen somebody use plastic hangers. Will play with that idea tomorrow. Waitin on connectors, wire, and batteries before she moves on her own, for now sound affects will have to do! Im kinda gettin bit by the scale bug also. Attachment 35906 Attachment 35907 |
