Default pede install question

What should be don't to a pede before installing it on a custom crawler? I have heard people saying stuff about the slipper and some gears but what is really needed to get it ready for my full custom crawler. I will be running a lathe and tlt axles on a chassis I will make when I get all of my parts in the mail but wanted to know what to do to the tranny before installing it. Also what are the body mount everyone has that run out the sides and not the topp of the body?

Just get the spur gear plate (it gets rid of the slipper) and lock the center differential in the stampede tranny. Then, drill the output shafts of the tranny for the holes that are on the sliders so you can run a codder pin through it and secure the sliders real well.

Personally I'd keep the side by the spur. No need to remove it, and it affords that much more protection if your truck is stuck on its side on a rock. And unless you plan on mudding the truck, I don't think that much will get into your tranny with the gear exposed.
