Re: Tube work with pics It's a shermota half Sherman tank half Toyota, I' like Yota's and have never reallt liked Exo's either but I do admire this one. There's over 200 ft. of tubing in that thing. Well at least that how much was bought for it and the cut offs add up to almost 8ft. Pretty crazy. Im' not gonna do a full exo. I hadn't thought about it. But I could. It'd be the first RC with an EXO. Mmmmm...... The guy who built is named Bernie and he's part owner of Blue Devil Products in Campbell, Ca. Good guy, great fabricator. |

Re: Tube work with pics-finished new pics Well I started working on a front bumper a few weeks ago but never got around to finishing it. So today I worked on it some more. Hopefully tomorrow I'll finish it. I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow night. |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished new pics lookin good |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished new pics Ok so here's the new bumper. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...6/f6c79ae6.jpg Should I paint it? what color? |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished new pics nice, is that sodered (sp) ? if so what soder did you use and how strong is it? |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished new pics It's not solder. I mig welded it then smoothed out the welds. I used a Miller 175 mig welder with 25/75 Argon/CO2 shielding gas. |

Re: Tube work with pics-finished more pics updated 10/3/04 Since we hijacked the shit out of this thread I split it and put the rest of it here: http://www.rccrawler.com/postt2777.html Sorry rckjeep. I still say don't paint it. Or if you do flat black might be cool. |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished more pics updated 10/3/04 I would still like to know why the DOM? My question is in the other thread that was moved, but just curious as to why. Seems like it would weigh more than it really needs to. |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished more pics updated 10/3/04 DOM? Because I found it online and wanted to try and work with it. I'm not too concerned with weight. It also welds a lot better than brakeline tubing. Since it's not galvanized it doesn't booger up as much. I like that. |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished more pics updated 10/3/04 if you do paint it just give it a light coat of silver engine enamal that way if it chips you wont notice that much. I say polish that shit Bling Bling :flipoff: |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished more pics updated 10/3/04 So I'll leave it raw. maybe a clear coat. anyway here's some pics with the camo'ed body. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...7/f6bc3a00.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...a/f6bc39f9.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...0/f6bc39f1.jpg |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished more pics updated 10/3/04 Nice pictures! That bumper is sweet. Only problem I see is... where's the servo? You still did not get any in yet? |
Re: Tube work with pics-finished more pics updated 10/3/04 they were shipped to work. I just got here and I've got the blue bird one ready to go in. my hitecs are still gone. I did get a card saying they received them. I should get them back in another week or two. Ya.... |
