Default Crawler TOM

This was Crawler TOM v1. Got the chassis off ebay and of course its Bender style. Had fun with it, but I can't leave anything as is for very long. So, here's v2:

wheelbase: 17" center clear: 4 1/4" top of towers: 8"
width: 15 3/4"
Some things that might not be so obvious are: RC4WD 4:1 gear reducer, rear dig, 995 servo, GP 2200 cells (6).
Version 2 is about 2 mths old now, just never posted pics online before. Had to find out how to do it, and it wasn't a huge priority. Pick away, but not much is gonna change anytime soon, cuz I just play, not many comps in Texas close enough to go to.

No probs with the tranny. Shaved case so it would fit in the super narrow chassis, aluminum idler gear, JB locked diff. Same tranny has been with Crawler TOM thru version 1 and now 2. v1 had t-maxx shafts which twisted severely and now I'm on revos. It's really light for a TXT based rig, you kno, using a tranny and long chassis and all, so I think that helps relieve stress for the majority of the time. I do run with a friend who complains about stripping his stampede tranny often though in his 2.2, but no problems here.

With just the 55T lathe, 2.72:1 from tranny internal, 2:1 from axles, and no matter what spur/pinion, I could not get the power I wanted. Now with the 4:1 I have many gearing options. I don't have to gear it all the way low with the spur and pinion. I could go as low as a 13T pinion, but currently I run a 16/84 setup. The reducer has gotten a lot of play in the external bushing, and internal gear slop as well. It makes a lot of noise and I grease it all the time to shut it up.

Do i smell fear? Are you trying to give my future clod the shaft?! haha looking foward to it! The biggest thing i need to do is buy some knuckles from run2jeep so i could easily run my batteries like you.

Clod, psh. This thing was made to compete with clods. I personally think clods are super capable and make great rigs but I just have to have driveshafts.

Thanks Dirty. My rigs tend to be unique since I make everything I can. I really prefer to make from scratch than to buy premade. If I ever post pics of my bashers on a non-crawlin site I will send u link...they are very unique.
